| Compaq has been a leader in the computer industry for decades. Compaq was responsible for the precursor to the modern laptop, the Compaq Portable. Later, the company was acquired by HP, but the Compaq name remains as a testament to Compaq's history of innovation and technological breakthroughs as well as the high quality of their laptop parts.
Compaq laptop AC adapters consist of two major components. First is the transformer, which converts the AC current coming from the wall outlet into DC current and passes this current onto the laptop at the correct voltage.
