When the power to a computer is turned off, the contents of memory are lost. Your data and programs are stored on a hard disk with magnetic platters that store non-versatile permanent memory. Every file, program, application, etc that is manually saved on the computer is stored in the Compaq laptop hard disk drive (HDD).
When problems occur and the Compaq laptop hard drive goes bad, the data can still be recovered. Normally, if the drive is making a ticking or a scratching noise, certain software programs can be used to recover the data. Sometimes the moving arm in the hard drive for the magnetic platters can fail. The magnetic platters that hold the data can get corrupted if not handled properly. If recovering data with data loss software is not an option, you’ll need to send the Compaq laptop hard drive off to have technicians recover your data. |
