| Dell is one of the leading computer manufacturers in the world, and they got there by offering many customization options at affordable prices. Their commitment to quality is seen in every component of their laptops and notebooks, including the keyboard.
One of Dell's most innovative product lines is its Alienware laptops. Dell purchased the Alienware Company in 2006, and has been continuing Alienware's unique laptop designs and innovations. Modern Alienware laptops feature a QuickTouch control pad. QuickTouch is a series of media and control buttons located above the keyboard, except that there are no physical buttons. Instead, there is a series of touch-sensitive capacitors that respond to touch to control functions, without the need for physical buttons. It is a very innovative concept that may eventually see its way into more Dell laptop keyboards in the future.
Dell offers one of the widest ranges of laptops and notebooks of any computer manufacturer. Their products run the gamut from the smallest in their line, the Mini notebook, with a 10.1 inch screen, to their desktop replacement Studio line, featuring high definition screens and a multimedia-centric design.
Dell laptop keyboards come in a variety of sizes. Its Mini series, despite its extremely compact size, is able to feature a full-size keyboard, minus the dedicated number pad. While some of the keys are removed to save space, all of the functionality is retained, and users will find the keyboard very usable.
The largest models, in the Studio series, feature a full keyboard, including the number pad. These Dell laptop keyboards also feature a number of quick-access buttons that allow easy access to the most necessary features, including media controls, volume controls, and other functions. The Studio series even includes a fingerprint reader, for secure access to important files.
