HP's laptops are some of the most popular laptops in the business sector, due to their reliability and quality construction. HP has always been at the leading edge of technology, and their laptops are no exception. Modern HP laptop batteries use varying types of lithium-ion technology, the most popular battery technology due to its ability to hold a lot of power in a small and lightweight design. This allows for more portability while still maintaining long laptop battery life; an essential feature of any notebook. Lithium ion technology is also popular for its lack of "memory effect". This was a flaw in older technologies that could result in diminished performance from a battery if it was not discharged and recharged completely every few weeks.
Perhaps benefiting most from HP laptop battery technologies is its line of netbooks, such as the HP Mini 110 XP. The Mini 110 offers a choice of either a 3-cell or 6-cell lithium ion notebook battery. While the 6-cell battery can offer up to 6 hours of battery life before needing to be recharged, the 3-cell notebook battery is lighter, contributing to less overall weight in the laptop.
HP continues to be a leader in computer, software, and printer technology, and they show no signs of slowing down. No doubt, HP's innovations in all aspects of technology will continue in the years to come, and HP laptop batteries will be no exception. |
