The Acer TravelMate 8572 is a solid-performing laptop geared toward buyers who want great performance and portability. It features an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor for extra muscle and Windows 7 Pro is included as well. All of this comes at a very affordable price that beats many in its class with a feature and price comparison.

The design of the 8572 is fairly basic, but not unattractive. It features a typical black plastic design that is very solid, with a good array of USB ports and other connections available and easy to reach. Despite being a 15.6" laptop, it even manages to include a full number pad with the keyboard, however, which is fairly rare for this size of laptop. As with many Acer models, it is relatively easy to perform simple laptop repairs, such as upgrading memory, thanks to simple access panels.

In addition to the Intel Core i5 or i7 processor mentioned above, the unit also comes with 4 GB of RAM right out of the box, which is enough to handle large documents and many programs at once, a great feature for power users. It also features Intel HD integrated graphics, great for multimedia applications, watching movies, or even light gaming. Other nice extras include a network port that can support speeds up to gigabit Ethernet and support for wireless 802.11n protocols.

Battery life is impressive, offering up to 7 hours of run time on a single charge. Acer laptop batteries are also easily swappable, allowing users to double or even triple their battery life by using extra batteries when needed. Extra accessories for the TravelMate 8572 such as batteries and Acer laptop AC adapters are available on our Spareparts Warehouse.

Overall, buyers will find the Acer TravelMate 8572 to be a very powerful laptop for a great price. Power users and serious gamers will find its integrated graphics a little disappointing, but for the majority of multimedia applications, its performance should be quite impressive.
